Currently writing an Islamic Studies Textbook for Grade 1 pupils of Doha Primary School
The Doha Primary School had no Islamic pedagogical textbook for Grade 1 and 2 pupils.
Teachers have been using Madrasah books in Creole Language to teach pupils which ended in teachers as well as pupils getting bored. Classes became platforms for "causerie"-type lectures which were not found appropriate for pupils of grades 1 and 2.
Moreover the lack of a pedagogical textbook rendered Exams very complicated and unstable.
pressurizingbeen assessed orally with 20-30 questions. This was very stressful for children. There have been pupils who were found shivering during these exams due to the stress and mind-pressurising of 30 oral questions .
Questions taken from Madrasah Books in Creole Language were way too hard for pupils of grades 1 and 2, such as "At what age did the Prophet receive Revelation?" and so many others.
Pupils have been taught Knowledge that did not suit their age.
Pupils have been learning Du'aas that did not suit their age, such as Du'aa for Halaal and Haraam income.
Exam oral questions have been partly set in English and partly set in Creole.
That is why the necessity to review the Islamic Curriculum, Syllabus and Materials have been found compulsory.
