DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT POSITION

 

PRODUCT DEVELOPER

- Analyse trend boards and highlight key shapes, fabrics colors, print or embroidery techniques for a specific market

- Understanding of all jersey fabric types, composition, use, price and value on the market.

- Knowledge of threads, dyeing techniques, prints and embroidery (shrinkage etc)

- Online competitors weekly analysis to follow up on missed opportunities and what could be our next proposals

- Working closely with different departments such as fabric specialist, print/embroidery technician and garment technologist to ensure right first time products

- Daily communication with assigned customers: 

MANGO Girl, MANGO Teen Girl, MANGO Teen Boy, Bizzbee Ladies, Urban Outfitters Ladies, Zara Girls, Sting Ladies, WE ladies, Finery and River Island Ladies

- Good interpretation of customer's request

- Propose appropriate fabric, accessories and techniques based request made by the client

- Re-engineering style where appropriate to meet client expectation both in terms of fitting

- Proactively participate in the garment manufacturing process

- Launch sampling of fabric/styles requested and ensure close follow up to meet deadline set by client (short lead-time since customer is a trendsetter)

- Assess the quality of samples and ensure they meet customer's specifications

- Ability to assess garment fitting, techniques, make up and finishing

- Following assessment of the garment, despatch to client thru DHL

- Weekly sampling recap to keep client in the loop

- Build up good relationship with client to get in touch with new departments or customer


MERCHANDISER

- Follow up of samples despatched for specific selection meeting and ask for feedback.

- Work on price of samples selected, keeping in mind past agreed cost to ensure profit within customer price range

- Negotiation and re-engineering (for eg cheaper techniques) of sample if price not agreed

- Push sales and propose alternatives to get to client target if necessary

- Go through manuals for new customers and hold meeting with all teams concerned - fabric, factory and shipping - to ensure correct understanding

- Attend training and zoom meeting held by customers to use new screen such as SAP/client dashboard

- Ensure all products follow client requirement based on customer manuals

- Send garment for testing to accredited laboratory for approval to ensure all OK for inspection

- Launching of dips based on fabric selected and color palette

- Negotiate price but also delivery date based on accessories and pre-production lead-time.

- Fill in client system to process Purchase Order once price and delivery date agreed

- Following PO received, review stock of accessories available or proceed with ordering if same out of stock and follow up based on suppliers target deliver date provided

- To follow up as pe manual /requirement packing instruction and shipping mode

- Follow up with make up units and weekly meeting to review orders work in progress and ensure there's no delay.

- If delay occurs in make up units, negotiation of extension has to be made and if not accepted to be reviewed with management

- Critical path management and weekly Video Conference with buyer

- Ensure inspection documents are available during conduct and liaise with shipping if all OK.

- Review client booking system before delivery of good and help out shipping team if entries issues appeared.

- Attend meetings with management to present daily client request or cancellation in some cases, and discuss thru what is feasible or not.


MARKETING TRIP

UK/Amsterdam/Denmark/Berlin/A Coruna

- Preparation of fabrics, styles and techniques based on trends and client's handwriting to be presented during the meeting

- Rack up, scanning and packing of suitcases after review with senior/management.

- Meeting with clients and look for new opportunities

- In store competitive analysis and recap to teams concerned

- Daily recap following meeting and action plan if necessary


CLIENT VISIT IN MAURITIUS

- Working closely with the design team to source and organise client meeting room based on boards sent by customer and what we want to push as techniques or fabrics

- Looking after all client needs and request during there visit - selection/price/delivery/fabrics/accessories

- Going out to dinner with clients

- Post visit recap (internal and external)
