Prior to being appointed CEO of the MPL, served as Deputy Director of Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA), overseeing the strategy and execution of the MQA’s regulatory role towards ensuring quality training and implementation of an enhanced National Qualifications Framework (NQF) . During this tenure, advised and supported 300+ Training Providers through significant quality change journey and business facilitation process. Also served as the Quality Services Manager and Framework Services Manager at MQA wherein piloted the revolutionary Recognition of Prior Learning system providing a second chance to people to earn a qualification;
As Training Manager, successively at one of the largest Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD) Training Centre the Prof Updhyaya Training Centre, Aquarelle Clothing Ltd( Textile Company of the CIEL group) and Mauritius Revenue Authority ,promoted individuals and teams work together to create trusted and sustainable solutions for clients, and businesses.
Passionate about building skills and opportunities for all, started career as an Assistant Manager, Training Standards at the (MITD) former Industrial Vocational Training Board , a far training organization that empowered thousands of Mauritians to develop and grow their careers and included upskilling the entire workforce.
Serving as Chairman of the National Heritage Fund (NHF) board for 7+ yrs, led a team of professional in formulating policies on safeguarding the heritage thereby giving them international recognition by listing 2 of intangible heritages at the UNESCO.
Also served as member of the Board of Higher Education Commission (HEC) former Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for 8+years wherein while chairing the subcommittee of Regulatory matters pioneered Education as a trade in services .Also sat on the Board of Governor of University of Technology (Mauritius) and State Informatics Ltd Board overseeing the Governance and HR matters .Finally also served as member at the Boards of the Mauritius Post Foreign Exchange ( MPFE) and Stamp Advisory Committee .Also Acted as Secretary to MQA board and served as Chairman of DAV college .
With years of international experience in advising other Training Organization, Qualifications Authorities and Quality Assurance Agencies, and also established international linkages with Universal Postal Union, Foreign Postal administrations whilst sharing the Mauritius Post best practices and Mauritius Post digital Transformation experiences.
Alternated training methods to diversify instruction, strengthen learning opportunities, and enhance program success.
