The role of a Marine Technical Lead (MTL) is primarily to provide specialist maritime support to the VIVO Energy HSSEQ Assurance Framework and to add value to the marine logistics activities of all operating businesses in Africa including the jetties activities of the own assets, Joint Ventures and third parties whilst managing and advising on all aspects of the ship/shore interface, including, commercial and risk management issues.
Another purpose of the MTL role is to monitor and assess the effectiveness of shipping and waterfront operations, advise on new maritime related regulations, projects, procedures (including handling for specialist cargoes) and to manage all aspects relating to marine matters appertaining to the safety, environment, commercial and third-party issues.
Additionally, as an MTL, I conduct 3rd party marine terminal and some vessel inspection (Barge) and will represent the maritime interest of VIVO Energy at regulatory authorities, external bodies and within relevant industry associations, committees/working groups.
Furthermore, I provide the source of maritime expertise and has accountability to the business manager, freight operators, asset managers and commercial operational services for all maritime related advices.

As an Operations Officer I was responsible for planning, execution and supervision of various operations in a Petroleum Terminal engaged in receipt, storage and distribution (including Bunkering)of various Petroleum products.
My Main Duties were:
Work at “Four Points By Sheraton Ebene Cybercity Hotel Co Ltd” a group of Starwood Hotels as Engineering Supervisor. Together with the Director of Engineering we made the opening of the Hotel. The work at the hotel consists of:
· Carry out regular work within the department and evaluate the performance and productivity of the engineering personnel
· Organize the roster of the engineering personnel
· Maintain the condition of the physical assets of the hotel by carrying out any upgrading and project work under the supervision of the Director of Engineering
· Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by managing a preventive maintenance programme. Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded
· Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, service agreements and warranties
· Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to the standards of good engineering practice
