As a General Practitioner in a Public Hospital, I had the opportunity to rotate in several departments, namely: Accident and Emergency, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, and Flu clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic. I gained experience in attending to and providing first-line treatment for emergency cases in the casualty, as well as admission and follow-up of the patients. During my 10 years of experience as a GP, I developed a keen interest in Neurology, particularly during rotations in Psychiatry, and sought opportunities to deepen my knowledge in neurological disorders.
As a newly qualified doctor, I had the opportunity to join this highly reputable Private Clinic where I had a responsibility to follow up admitted patients, attend to in-ward emergencies, carry out multidisciplinary ward rounds with different specialists and played a key role in managing follow-up care, ensuring continuity and quality of care for chronic and complex cases.
