Summary

I began my career in the Advisory Department at EY in Mauritius after graduating from high school (Royal College Curepipe) with a particular focus on risk management, internal audit, business consulting and process improvement.
Whilst at EY and RSM, I have acquired multi industry experience by being involved in local and international assignments (remotely) ; working with organisations such as the Islamic Development Bank, European Union and with leading clients in the Hospitality, Financial Services, Agricultural Sectors, Wealth Management sectors and Donor Funded Organisations.I have also been involved in the conduct of risk assessment exercise and design of the risk management framework for clients in Mauritius.

I concede that the onset of any working relationship would involve me being at the receiving end of training and information and I firmly believe that my questioning mind and apt grasping of what I will be taught, will frame the relationship into a more dyadic one in that I, hopefully, will be able to add value and contribute to the furtherance of my team.

ICFR Project (Banking sector)

  • Experience in the review of internal controls on financial reporting ( of a large commercial bank in UAE.
  • The assessment was performed to comply with ADAA's Resolution No.1 2017, through assessing the system of internal controls in place by referring to the COSO Integrated Internal Controls Framework. The scope covered included review and assessment of the design of the Entity Level and Process Level Controls, testing of the internal controls' operating effectiveness and preparation of the gap analysis report with defined action plans for deficiencies noted in control points.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As part of tech audits, experience in engagements to evaluate the effectiveness of IT internal controls relating to domains such as entity level governance, access control, change management, business continuity management, asset management, risk management and compliance amongst others.
  • Experience in assessing effectiveness of IT general controls ( and in reporting on reliance on application controls and electronic audit evidence.
  • Reviewed controls aiming at mitigating risks related to business continuity IT disaster recovery and protection of sensitive data.
  • Reviewed access control policies, user access management processes, access control security settings and segregation of duties (within and across customised SAP roles) following implementation of SAP across business units. Segregation of duties review was performed using SAP GRC standard rulesets.
  • Participate in Risk Service engagements, including internal audits and broader risk advisory projects;
    • Execution and delivery of engagements focusing on risk management, process reviews and controls.
    • Create work products such as audit analyses and engagement documentations; evaluate and test processes and related controls; prepare the audit approach relating to nature, timing and extent of procedures; assign and review work of other team members and work on the preparation of reports and schedules for clients and other stakeholders;
