-Light Railway Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance & Management- Mauritius

- Develop O&M strategies, implement and manage the service delivery plans of Operations and Maintenance Department to meet or exceed the Operating Performance Standards (OPS) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI);

- Accountable for the Operations and Maintenance Department Performance;

- Management of Operations and Maintenance Department to deliver a safe, reliable and quality train service;

- Work closely with other Departments to manage the operations and maintenance activities and ensure a seamless transfer of work processes for reliability of system;

- Develops strategies to restore & recover services affected by operational incidents, bad weather, staff shortages and acts as a focal point within service delivery;

- Work with executive management to understand maintenance objectives and desired outcomes for each project;

- Manage projects and deliver work-streams, taking direction from the Chief Executive Officer when required;

- Ensure overall passenger satisfaction targets are met;

- Ensuring the company fully complies with the regulator and the Operations licence requirements is current and up to date;

- Responsible for all rail and maintenance contracts and ensuring they are kept up to date;

- To ensure the development and support the implementation of the MEL's strategic safety and security plan;

- Directs the establishment of and adherence to policies and procedures for the collection and counting of revenue; METRO EXPRESS LTD

- Work collaboratively with all departments to promote an organization -wide approach to risk reduction;

- Accountable for operations procurement, warehouse and inventory control for the logistics section;

- Responsible for the audit and upkeep of all transport processes and procedures;

- Approves safety audit reports;

- Reviews and approves the Risk Register of the Department;

- Draft policies on compliance and laws relating to safety and security matters;

- Uphold the highest standards of Operational and Technical competencies for the Operations and Maintenance staff;

- Accountable for the development of the Procurement Management Procedures;

- Provide support to executive management with regards to Employee Development; and

- Prepares status reports for CEO as and when required;

- Prepares board papers for submission to the Board of Directors

- Prepare and implement Business Continuity Plan, and

- Perform other related duties as assigned

Manage the Operations Department at Terragen Ltd comprising of 25 employees including 12 engineering graduates Reporting Line: Power Plant Manager

➢ Power Plant Operations

• Plant operation –Start-ups & Shutdowns

• Boiler and boiler auxiliaries - cold and hot start and shutdown, hydraulic pressure test, boiler banking

• Turbine and turbine auxiliaries - cold and hot start and shutdown, vibration and temperature monitoring, synchronization of generator to the grid - Power dispatching to the national grid

- LP steam supply to sugar mill

- Raw materials ( coal, bagasse and cane trash) planning & logistics - By- products (bottom ash, coal flyash and bagasse flyash) planning & logistics

- Liaise with the customers of the power plant

- Manage emergency situations- trips, fire, spills, injury etc

- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for technical problems

- Address non conformities – technical and non- technical

- Monitor and devise isolation procedures for work permits for high risk works

- Perform risk assessment for high risk works

• Power Plant Process

- Plant efficiency calculation, monitoring, analysis & reporting

- Plant parameters monitoring, analysis & reporting.

- Managing the Chemical/laboratory department- optimization of chemical products – dosing, consumption , inventory and reorder

➢ Human Resource Management

• Team roster planning, recruitment, PMS and succession planning

• Operator training – personally train the plant operators who are graduates with degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering. Two year program involving theoretical & practical training.

• Collaborate with UOM for placement of students & supervise the training of students during their under- graduate program. Terragen Ltd

➢ Quality Systems - Responsible under the guidance of the HSE department for the implementation and monitoring of the HSE quality systems in the Operations Department. Terragen Ltd has been awarded the ISO 9001: Quality Management System , ISO 14001: Environmental Management System (2004) & ILO OSH: Occupational Safety & Health Management System (2001) certificates (Upgraded to ISO45001) since December 2013. - Perform Occupational risk assessment
